I’ve voted in every election since Jimmy Carter was elected, and the only candidate who has come remotely close to the maniac in the oval office is Barry Goldwater — at least he was smart and sane. At first it seemed as important figures stepped forward Trump would be adversely affected; it didn’t happen. Mitt Romney showed real courage in what he said; no difference.
And finally Mary Trump topped them all with an honest, well written, and scathing book that would seem to have the power to tumble any figure of power….and yet, not much happened there either as the polls have been basically unchanged throughout.
But today it’s his own sister who calls him all the bad things that he is, but only because it was recorded and not given voluntarily, so she’s probably not a happy camper with today’s news. How can Trump affect and dominate people, and people this close to him, this way? Through fear, intimidation, and the knowledge that people have of Trump who has shown he will do anything to “win”, as he showed in the 2016 election. He cheated in the election as sure as he cheats in golf. When I think of all the lives this liar and criminal has upended and even ruined, it boggles the mind.
There is so much hinging on this election but one issue stands head and shoulders above all the rest as serious as the others are. The risk of nuclear war. Did you know that Trump has asked the question, three times in fact...”Why don’t we use nuclear weapons?”
Any person, much less a candidate for President of the United States, who would ask such a question should be considered for all practical purposes — brain dead. What Trump’s October surprise will be is anybody’s guess, but know this: It will be big, dangerous, and probably illegal like so many things he has done. We must be vigilant to the very end because if Trump stays in office for another term, it may well be the very end...and that’s not Trump hype either. Vote early, and take a friend.
