In the interests of full disclosure I am and will forever be a supporter of Bernie Sanders. I’m doing everything that I can to see him elected as our next President in 2016. Having zero respect much less admiration for the former Secretary of State as the “Democratic socialist,” and junior-most Senator from the land of Ben & Jerry’s does.
I wouldn’t vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton for buffalo town crier much less dog catcher despite the need for more dog catchers than buffalo town criers.

In my opinion Hillary Clinton has no business in the Oval Office “behind the big desk” at 3 a.m. or 3 p.m. eastern standard time on this or any other day of the week that ends in “Y”.
Yet and still the political establishment, pollsters and pundits alike are busy cutting the long and short drapes plus the rugs and door mats for an HRC occupancy. This despite only just now 3 of 50 primaries and caucus states beginning the beguine of all things democratic process for our great country. Stack the deck much?
I’ve said all this to say this: When you’ve only had three of fifty states and no other contests even set to begin, yet, it makes the argument for “heavy hangs the head that wears the crown,” a mute point to say the least.
But you have to admire the cavalcade of pollsters, pundits and talking heads for trying, don’t you? I mean take tonight’s festivities on CNN. The Democratic Town Hall down in Columbia, SC. The last before the primary process there begins on Saturday.
I’m amazed at the style v. substance with which CNN handled tonight’s Democratic town hall with the last remaining democratic candidates for the presidency in 2016.
On the one hand were told that Bernie Sanders is a “one-issue candidate” a “noun, a verb and Wall Street” is the hue and cry from the political establishment. “He needs to say more and do more.” Etc.

Yet during his first-up turn for tonight’s town hall that’s where CNN’s Chris Cuomo kept it. Where as Hillary Clinton’s moment in the spotlight was a wash with substance. Scratch me to strange, BUT aren’t media types suppose to keep all fair and balanced (Fox News reference fully intended here for the purposes of example)? Right down the middle as it were.
But tonight’s town hall was anything but. Because the second half of the town hall was filled to overflowing with stack deck politics. And Mrs. Clinton was allowed to be Mrs. Clinton. And pander through the Palmetto State’s political conundrum she did.
No moment to large. No subject to small. References to hair styles for young African-American girls. Beyonce’s controversial Superbowl halftime performance. To how it takes a village to raise children, families and social security. My good God in heaven folks it couldn’t have been anymore of a stacked political deck for the Panderer-N-Chief-in-waiting and wanting if it was one.
Chris Cuomo and Company didn’t pose one question of domestic fare to Bernie Sanders tonight. Not one! They didn’t tee up any Social Security questions for him. Women and young girls issues? Zip. Foreign policy issues? No way Hosea! Instead Cuomo and Company spent an hour and a half with the noun, a verb and Wall Street is evil incarnate (which they are) Commander and Chief in waiting … One issue. One hit wonder Q & A. Double standard much [CNN]?
But as a Bernie Sanders supporter I am told by the likes of former Philadelphia Mayor, His Honor, Michael Nutter to shut up and debate the issues of the day when it comes to our Democratic primary process. I’m told by folks the likes of Bakari Sellers that supporting and working for Bernie Sanders is somehow akin to pandering. Or that Bernie Sanders has no “real record to stand on and Hillary [Clinton] does”. “The African-American vote is a lock for Hillary Clinton in South Carolina.”
Pardon me all to hell but that’s about the biggest pile of happy horse crap that I’ve ever heard in my life!

Bernie Sanders has done more in his life by accident than Hillary Rodham Clinton has on purpose.
But we are told now that this somehow pales in comparison to the great Hillary Rodham Clinton who went a way down South in Dixie a way back when for the long hot summer and helped Marian Wright Edelman’s famed Children’s Defense Fund keep at-risk African-American children out of adult prisons. Or how she established a poor man’s defense fund as First Lady of Arkansas in the 1990’s. Such is a qualifier for becoming Commander and Chief of our Armed Forces around the free world, right? Well shucks man! At-risk youth and poor people litter the rolls for the US Military so yeah Hillary Clinton deserves the chance to lead them. Cut her a break! Or so I’m told.
IF but only that were enough to convince me that she needs to be those at-risk youths and poor folk’s leader. But and alas its not.
Nor is it particularly gratifying for me that just because she’s a woman and has a uterus I should vote for her to be our next president. Killer Mike’s support of Bernie Sanders be damned!
No. I’m supporting and working for Bernie Sanders because for all his life he has continued with the same messages over and over and over again. People are hurting because the system, American democracy as we know it, is rigged. The books are cooked! The deck has been stacked against us folks, and its been stacked against us, all, for a very, very, very long time. And enough is enough!
Bernie has been consistent. Steadfast. Resolute in his messages on behalf of the poor. The disabled. The disadvantaged. And the elderly for forever. From his time in Chicago with the Congress of Racial Equality or CORE to his marching in our great nation’s streets with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Bernie Sanders has stood and not pandered in the gap for the least of these amongst us.

Where as Hillary Rodham Clinton has spent her life pandering and opportunist-ing her way to the top.
Looking for that next big break. That next opportunity to worm her way into your and my democratic process.
I’m sorry, BUT political opportunist need not apply.
