Barry Goldwater's Daughter & Granddaughter Endorses Dr. Richard Carmona for Senate

I received a great email today from Democratic U.S. Senate candidate, Dr. Richard Carmona, who is running for Jon Kyl's seat in Arizona.  The day after both Carmona and his Republican opponent, Congressman Jeff Flake, won their primaries, Barry Goldwater's daughter, Joanne, and his granddaughter, CC, endorsed Dr. Carmona for U.S. Senate.  This is great news because Goldwater is still a beloved name in Arizona.  This will help Carmona attract moderate voters in Arizona.  Check out the piece that the hill wrote about the endorsement:

The Goldwater's endorsement of Dr. Carmona is a reminder that this isn't the party of Reagan or Goldwater any more.  If Barry was alive today, he'd be disgusted by what his party has become and would be endorsing the former surgeon general over Ron Paul's buddy who wants to do away with the 17th amendment.  This is my favorite part of the news story:

One of Flake's strongest lines of attack against Carmona thus far is that he'll be a cookie-cutter Democrat, backing Obama every step of the way, and the first ad push he launched in the general election cycle aimed to label Carmona as "Rubberstamp Rich."

But the Goldwaters' endorsement, which came just hours after the launch of Flake's attack, serves to counter that. And now the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is hoping to stretch the endorsement out to cover not just Carmona's centrist credentials, but also Flake's position on women's issues.

Citing his "no" vote on equal-pay legislation and his vote to allow employers to deny contraception coverage, among others, DSCC spokesman Matt Canter said in a memo that Flake's policies are "dangerous for women."

I always knew this would be a tough race but I am impressed with Carmona as the Democrats candidate.  This is a race that I have donated money too and you should too!  We have a lot of tough races this year and like any smart gambler, I think we should cover our losses.  I still believe we can pull off surprise victories in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Nevada and Indiana and I believe we will hold Florida, Missouri, Montana, Ohio, New Mexico, Connecticut and North Dakota and Maine is ours for the taking but I want to get us 55 to 56 seats.  It's an ambitious and tough number, i know, but we have some great candidates and the election is just starting to warm up.  I doubt Obama will win Arizona but Jeff Flake isn't as popular as you'd think and if we can flip this seat blue, it will be a great way for us to stick it to the tea party extremists.  Help defeat the extremists, lets help Dr. Carmona win in November:
